Instructions for Changing DNS
To change your DNS settings, follow the steps below depending on your device or operating system:
For Windows:
Open Network Settings:
Right-click on the Start menu and select Network Connections or open Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.
Select Network Adapter:
Right-click on your active network connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and choose Properties.
Access DNS Settings:
In the properties window, click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click Properties.
Change DNS Servers:
Select Use the following DNS server addresses.
Enter the desired DNS server addresses:
For Google DNS:
Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8
Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4
For Cloudflare DNS:
Preferred DNS: 1.1.1.1
Alternate DNS: 1.0.0.1
For OpenDNS:
Preferred DNS: 208.67.222.222
Alternate DNS: 208.67.220.220
Save Changes:
Click OK to save the settings, then restart your browser or device for the changes to take effect.
For macOS:
Open System Preferences:
Click on the Apple Menu and select System Preferences.
Network Settings:
Click on Network and choose your active connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
DNS Configuration:
Click on the Advanced button, then go to the DNS tab.
Add DNS Servers:
Click the + button and enter the desired DNS addresses (e.g., 8.8.8.8 for Google DNS, 1.1.1.1 for Cloudflare, or 208.67.222.222 for OpenDNS).
Save Changes:
Click OK, then click Apply to save the changes.
For Android:
Open Wi-Fi Settings:
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and tap on the network you’re connected to.
Modify Network:
Tap on Advanced and select IP settings.
Change from DHCP to Static.
Enter DNS Addresses:
Enter the desired DNS server addresses in the DNS 1 and DNS 2 fields.
Save Changes:
Tap Save or OK to apply the new DNS settings.
For iOS:
Open Wi-Fi Settings:
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and tap on the network you're connected to.
Configure DNS:
Tap Configure DNS and select Manual.
Add DNS Servers:
Tap Add Server and enter the desired DNS addresses (e.g., 8.8.8.8 for Google DNS, 1.1.1.1 for Cloudflare, or 208.67.222.222 for OpenDNS).
Save Changes:
Tap Save to apply the new DNS settings.
By changing your DNS settings, you can improve browsing speed, enhance security, and bypass certain restrictions depending on the DNS provider you choose.
